Far Cry 3 and Star Wars Kinect Announced at E3

It has been a while since we have been able to release new artwork for titles that we have contributed to. This is because many of the games we worked on over the last few years have not yet been released. We were excited to see at E3 some of the titles we worked on getting closer to launch, like Twisted Metal. We also we happy to see some of the titles we worked on being announced to the public for the first time, Far Cry 3 and Star Wars Kinect.

Hopefully in a few more months we will be able to share some of the amazing artwork we contributed to these titles.

New Home of West Studio

After a few months of construction the new home of West Studio has been completed. The structure that the studio is housed in is a 1915 carriage house. Needless to say, the structure needed quite a few upgrades to bring it up to the standards of a modern day design studio. We attempted to keep the charm of the original space, while fulfilling the studio's requirements. The new space is functional and organized to encourage creativity amongst in-house and visiting artists with its open floor plan.

Twisted Metal and Kinect Adventures Announced at E3

After months of holding our breath we can finally talk about our involvement in the development of Twisted Metal and Kinect Adventures (though you will have to wait a bit longer to see the artwork).

In 2008 Eat Sleep Play contacted us to do concept art for the upcoming Twisted Metal. For over a year we were fortunate enough to be able to collaborate on vehicles, characters, environments and game mechanics with David Jaffe and his team. We can't wait to eventually show off the artwork and have you experience the incredible game-play for yourselves.

We also had the honor of working on one of the first titles to be released on Kinect, Kinect Adventures, for Microsoft Game Studios. We contributed to the environments, characters, graphics and story-boarding. Unfortunately the lines were too long to try it out for ourselves at E3, but it looked like everyone was having a blast playing.

Rest in Peace Norm Schureman

The design community lost a dear friend yesterday. Norm Schureman was one of the most influential figures in my career. He not only inspired me to grow as an artist, but also to grow as a person. His dedication to Art Center was unmatched. He gave everything he had to his students and their growth. I will miss being around him and the immeasurable pride he had for all of his students. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family.
